SU to participate in higher education conference in Saudi Arabia
August 7, 2013
Syracuse University will participate in the third annual International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on April 17-20. While offering Saudi students access to over 475 universities and academic institutions, the exhibition also encourages knowledge sharing and collaboration between Saudi and international higher education institutions. Representatives from these institutions gather to explore the issues that govern and influence the quality of higher education worldwide.
Having participated in each of the previous two exhibitions, Syracuse University will be among more than 75 institutions from the United States in attendance this year, including Columbia University, Duke University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.
Syracuse is committed to recruitment in Saudi Arabia. The University is enjoying a growing number of applicants from the Arab Gulf--a record 150 for 2012. A committed presence in the region for both recruitment and alumni relations is a priority for Syracuse. SU alumni living in the Gulf will help staff the exhibition booth, and Hasan Shaikh, regional director of Middle East advancement and external affairs, will represent Syracuse University.
