Mekhala Shroff '27
Mekhala was born in India and raised in Dubai, UAE. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Biotechnology at Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Fascinated by the intersection of science and real-world solutions, Mekhala is passionate about exploring how biotechnology can contribute to medicine, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.
At Syracuse, Mekhala serves as a MENAT Student Ambassador. In this role, she supports incoming students from the MENAT region as they adjust to life on campus. Having experienced the transition herself, she understands the value of community and aims to make international students feel welcomed, informed, and confident.
Outside of academics, Mekhala is involved in student-led organizations and outreach efforts. She enjoys connecting with prospective and current students through campus tours, orientation events, and peer mentoring. Her journey reflects her dedication to not just academic growth but also building meaningful connections across cultures and backgrounds.
After graduation, Mekhala plans to pursue a career in biotechnology, with long-term goals that may include graduate study and research in health-related innovation.
