Jude Darwish '25Jude Darwish was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates with a Palestine heritage. She is pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Architecture. Jude began her academic journey at SU as an architecture major student but transitioned to civil engineering after discovering her passion for the structural and analytical aspects of designing and building infrastructure. Her background in architecture complements her civil engineering studies, offering her a holistic understanding of how design and engineering intersect to create safe, sustainable, and efficient structures. She views this program as the ideal opportunity to build on her foundation, expand her knowledge, and contribute to the development of impactful infrastructure.

In the summer of 2024, Jude interned at Dubai Contracting Company in Dubai, where she gained hands-on experience by assisting with foundation work on one of their projects. She reviewed architectural and structural drawings, observed the integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems with finishing work, and monitored labor allocation to ensure compliance with project timelines and safety standards, contributing to effective site management.

This blend of academic rigor and practical experience has equipped Jude with a strong foundation in both design and engineering, enabling her to approach projects with a comprehensive and innovative perspective. She is committed to leveraging her skills to create sustainable, impactful infrastructure that improves communities and shapes a better future.

Apart from being a MENAT student ambassador, Jude is also an active member of the running club, National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), and a teaching assistant.
