Industrial & Interaction Design , Kuwait

Omar Ebraheem '20Omar has always been fascinated in the power of creativity. He found his passion of design through books, movies and music that he had growing up. He found Syracuse through his cousin, and chose it for its acclaimed design school.

Omar is pursuing a degree in Industrial & Interaction Design at the college of Visual and Performing Arts. He didn't know what route to take after high school, and that’s when he was presented with IND. Thanks to the opportunities that he's had at Syracuse University Omar has learned to empathize with people and use that knowledge to design for the future. When he's not busy as the Vice President of the "Industrial Design Society of America" at SU you can find him cooking, making music, or practicing his calligraphy.

"I didn't realize how much more to design there was until I got to SU. It really opened up my eyes to the different paths I could take as a designer."

After graduating Omar wants to get a few years of experience in the United States and take that knowledge back home in Kuwait with him.

To incoming students Omar says "Take a chance and get out of your comfort zone, even for a moment, and you might discover something amazing."
